Rangespan is an ambitious ecommerce technology company that makes it easy for retailers to offer massive product selection. Founded by ex-Amazon executives and engineers, the company is based at Paddington Station, London.

 

We are seeking a world-class Senior Developer to join our technology team. The Senior Developer is a broad, varied, and hands-on role where the candidate will have a lot of scope to shape day-to-day responsibilities. The initial projects will be to lead development of a new set of web services. The role has responsibilities across all areas of software development including:

 

• Architecting systems
• Coding RESTful web services
• Developing web applications
• Writing unit tests
• Implementing automated deployments to cloud-hosted resources
• Provisioning new hardware and debugging live code

 

Rangespan is building an extremely high-scale environment with a vast network of retailers and suppliers transacting across millions of products daily. The Senior Developer will have a major and direct impact on the success of Rangespan and will work closely with the founders in establishing a world-class organization.

 

The right candidate will be extremely talented, creative, and innovative. They will have a bias for action, be attracted to the excitement of building a new business, and embrace Rangespan’s values.

 

Specific qualifications include:

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent field
• Demonstrated expertise and experience in architecting, developing, and deploying high-scale RESTful web services
• Proficiency in Python, Django and Amazon Web Services
• Proficiency in both relational and non-relational databases (i.e. MySQL and MongoDB)
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Ability to attract additional world-class software developers

 

Salary is up to £50k base plus equity. (We also have a junior role at £30k plus equity.)
