S[edition]: Senior Developer (Digital Arts Platform)

£45,000 + Ben / Mayfair, London

Description

s[edition] is a digital arts ecommerce company building a next generation platform to collect, share and trade art online. Founded by leaders in the art and ecommerce world, we are a rapidly growing team of developers and seeking a world class Senior Developer.

You will have at least 5 years of current PHP experience, be an expert at Object Orientated software design, write lean SQL queries, be familiar with cloud computing and practice great code quality. You will inspire and mentor others around you, whilst being an integral part of the core development team.

The ideal candidate will have:

General:

Required Skills:
• Expert in Object Orientated design and software architecture (n-tier/multi-tier)
• Strong understanding of best-practices and various design patterns
• Demonstrable experience of building n-tier (multi-tier) web based applications
• Expert in PHP5 (5+ years)
• Expert in relational and non-relational databases
• Experience of version control software and release management best practises (SVN, HG, GIT etc..)

Desirable Skills:
• Expert knowledge of web application security
• Application performance testing and management
• Experience of an Agile/ Scrum environment
• Experience of Linux system administration and network architecture
• Knowledge of Zend, Symphony or Cake PHP Frameworks
• BS, MS, or Ph.D. in Computer Science or similar

Salary is up to £45k base plus benefits.
