iCrossing: Junior Software Engineer (Digital Marketing Agency)

We are looking for a junior engineer to join our internal development team to help build awesome applications. We are not looking for experience in a particular codebase, we are more interested in people that are fast learners that would thrive in a creative and collaborative working environment. Our ideal candidate would be a super geek with a passion for software engineering, web technologies & APIs and large scale databases. If successful, you will work on a range of interesting software projects, and with mentorship from senior developers, gain experience with the latest technologies and tools.

We use an agile/scrum process for managing development - this means our developers spend their time building prototypes and working code that can quickly deliver tangible benefits to our users

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

•A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design
•Experience in working with web based service APIs
•Experience with .Net, PHP, Java, Python or Ruby on rails
•Analytical mind
•Knowledge of Microsoft technology stack or equivalent
•Experience with databases
•Enjoys a friendly, team based working environment
•Attention to detail

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE DESIRED

•Computer science degree
•Knowledge and contribution to open source projects
•Curious about learning new code bases, system operations and cloud computing
•Experience of web scraping and large scale data parsing
•Interest in machine learning algorithms
•Experience of excel macros
•Keep up to date with technology trends and internet memes
•Good to excellent tea making skills
