Description

Lokku is seeking a front end developer to design and implement great user experiences for our vertical search engines, including our flagship brand, Nestoria: http://www.nestoria.co.uk/. If you have a good understanding of contemporary web trends and technologies that you can apply to the design, development and evolution of Nestoria’s user interface for web, mobile and tablet, then please keep reading.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead the A/B and user-testing programme at Lokku

· Brainstorm design and UX ideas with the team

· Create sketches and design templates for Nestoria’s front-end evolution

· Implement design prototypes either in code or in wireframe applications

· Implement front-end improvements and new interfaces

· Maintain and evolve the rest of the Lokku web portfolio

· Provide input into our exciting plans for the front-end design of the mobile / tablet version of Nestoria

· Follow the latest web and mobile UX best practices

· Raise the profile of Lokku and Nestoria in the design / UX community

· Manage and mentor our Product interns

The Person

The right person for this role will be passionate about designing and creating compelling visual experiences within a data-driven design culture. They will have solid HTML and CSS skills, and a basic proficiency with JavaScript or a web scripting language such as Perl, PHP, Ruby or Python. They will have experience with A/B and user testing, and have used graphics and image manipulation tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator or OmniGraffle. An understanding of SEO and SEM practices and their implications on design would be helpful, as would a grasp of on-line user experience best practices and web analytics tools. As Nestoria operates in a number of countries, multi-lingual candidates are of interest, although this is by no means essential.
