We are looking for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial Web Developer to join the founding team of this exciting new internet company which is backed by an established business.

A little about you!

You will truly make things happen! You need to be ambitious, entrepreneurial and hard working. You are effective in working closely with business process owners to research and recommend best practice to design our company’s technology platform. You will deliver technical specifications and bring them to life with full responsibility for the build and implementation.

You are a smart, forward thinking problem solver with great attention to detail. You have commercial focus and true ambition to succeed.

You’ll be at ease writing scalable, robust, efficient code. Working directly with the founder you will have full responsibility in building the company’s websites and back end systems. You need to be comfortable working in a small team environment from the outset (2-3 people).

Be prepared to talk about how your open mind, creative thought process and dedication to deliver quality software products have served you well in the past. You’ll need it all in this role. And on that point....

Accountabilities will include:

Building the company’s pricing engine and web platform powering warehouse management, order management, customer service as well as multiple websites.
Ensuring the company’s IT system is efficient, streamlined, robust and scalable as we grow.
Managing the build, distribution and implementation of new code and technologies across online channels to improve company performance.
To ensure web development is delivered on time in accordance with the company’s strategic objective.
Maintaining our existing websites and systems.
Designing new front end websites for the company.
To maintain and document all company systems.
To eventually lead and manage the development team.

Desired Experience and Skills:

Technical:

.NET 4 / C#
Classic ASP
SQL Server
CSS, HTML
JavaScript & AJAX
XML / XSL
Photoshop (or similar design package)

Experience:

Commercial experience in developing and maintaining Ecommerce systems
Experience of all aspects of project lifecycle, from specification to testing and release
Experience in refactoring existing code to fix bugs and improve quality
