Summary

This is an opportunity to become one of the first developers for a funded startup being created by an entrepreneur with a proven track record.  The successful candidate will have a say in shaping the culture as well as the technical direction of the new company.  This is a great chance to get involved in a brand new team and new system.

Must have strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, fluency in coding and systems design, solid communication skills and a desire to tackle complex problems.  Must be able to demonstrate a passion for code quality, striving always to do the right thing rather than just make it work.  
 

Responsibilities:

  • Review and influence ongoing design, architecture, standards and methods.
  • Develop and manage the new system and its on-going upgrades.
  • Working closely with other business departments; write software and build automation continuously to enhance the core offering and automate back end processes.
  • Contribute to building and managing a team of developers (local and remote) as the company grows

Requirements:

  • BS/MS Degree in Computer Science or related field  
  • 3-5 years of development experience
  • Fluency in Python; and familiarity with one or more of: Java, PHP, C++
  • Good understanding of supporting technologies such as HTML, Javascript, CSS, Web services, JSON, XML
  • Expertise in data structures and algorithms
  • Knowledge of IP networking, network analysis, performance and application issues
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
  • Front-end development experience a plus
  • Experience with Django a plus
  • Excellent communication skills a must
