The Role:

We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer (OOP / Java) to join an international technology company whose products and services are used by millions of people each day across the internet.

What are you going to do:

·         Write great Java code

·         Collaborate with teams in the UK and US to develop large-scale web systems

·         Design and develop new features and components in our shopping comparison systems

 

Who should you be:

·         A Java guru

·         Somebody who is an expert in most of the main technologies in our software stack: Tomcat, Spring, Hibernate, Coherence, Oracle RDBMS, Linux

·         Familiar with developing RESTful web services

·         A person with the potential to improve our extremely competent developer team – this means you need to either have lots of potential or already be a great developer, because this isn’t easy

 

It would be great if you have experience with:

·         Non-relational (NoSQL) stores like HDFS and HBase.

·         Distributed caches like Coherence and Hazelcast

·         Machine learning frameworks like Apache Mahout

·         Search frameworks, like Solr/Lucene
